Lots of Germans in the 30s were publicly prejudiced against Jews before Hitler started spelling it out for them.

you know what doesn't fit into this narrative?

the fact that the nazis realized that raging anti-semitism would lose them votes, so they reduced their anti-semitism in favour of raging anti-communism, which made them far more appealing to a wider audience.

in 1928, Hitler declared "so long as the jews remain agreeable, they can stay, otherwise they must go"

the anti-semitism only got cranked up back to pre 1925 levels after 1933, when he was already well underway of consolidating his power and german democracy was done for

The Jewish in Europe have always been treated like complete shit. The Dreyfus affair and the Russian pogroms are good examples of this. Hitler simply capitalised on this hate and used it to gain power. This is something people often forget there has always been hatred towards the Jewish. They were blamed for almost everything part of the reason why many Jewish people advocated for creation of a zionist state in Israel. So I think to compare Hitler to trump in this context is intellectually dishonest.
