The people with their last name aren't necessarily related to them through their great-grandfather. Slaves were given their masters' name and many kept that name when they were freed, so siblings often wound up with different surnames when slavery ended. Plus most white slavers wouldn't admit to fathering children with their slaves and giving them their name. (Those children, by the way, were often sold away so the wife wouldn't be embarrassed.) So it's more likely that those people with the same surname are descendants of slaves the family owned rather than being related to any of the white family.
It's ridiculous that this person (if they can be called that) is praising slavery and yet doesn't have the most basic understanding of how slavery worked. But I guess you have to be really, really uneducated to think slavery was good.
