Not American, but am genuinely curious as to why this is the case? Literally every other country - in both East and West - has just done as the gov said, stayed home, no (well much less) complaints.
I really thought that the virus was that one existential threat that would unite us as a country and as a species against a common enemy. Boy was I wrong.
