“No, you’re misinformed. If you wear a mask and I’m sick with Covid and I’m not wearing one, yes it is useless to you because you can still breath in the air droplets.
However if you wear a mask, you protect me from your sickness. Furthermore, if we both wear masks I protect you from me, and you protect me from you.
To not wear a mask just makes you an asshole.
Lastly, if you have an N95 mask, it protects both of us I believe because it has proper filtration.
Oh and one last thing, I don’t have the source (saw it on Reddit awhile back) but your odds of getting Covid while wearing a mask does decrease with mask use (I believe it was like 17.4%).”
Let’s not spread misinformation and furthermore be so arrogant as to not learn something new.
I will always remember this episode from South Park, where Stan is following Token telling him all sorts of reasons why he’s mad at him or something and how at the end, Stan says “Token, I finally get it. I DON’T get it. I DON’T GET IT. Because I will never understand what it’s like to be black.”
So then Token goes “Now you get it, Stan.”
Truth is, we can all protest and help people of color fight racism and the difficulties they face daily in life, but we should never claim to understand what they truly go through. We may see this shit on TV and the news but we will never know the fear they get when they see a cop, or when someone confronts them about something as meaningless as selling WATER in the street “without a permit”, or just always end up the one in handcuffs even after them being the ones who reported the crime JUST because of the color of their skin.
I live in fear everyday of my life and I ain’t even black. I don’t think I could ever wake up to even TRY to live life normally with all the shit they go through.
Respects to all black people and damn I hope these protests and such will finally fucking get them somewhere. Stay safe.
