There are a lot of similarities between kids who cut and kids who punch walls etc. It's a shame adults don't treat it as the self harm and sign of mental illness that it is.
Kid I grew up with was a decent baseball player but would throw tantrums anytime anything bad would happen, crying on the mound, yelling at his dad the coach, etc. Fast forward 12 years, he's a sheriff's deputy and suspended for posted anti-muslim nonsense on Facebook. That was about ten years ago. He's still a sheriff's deputy.
