Played some game from a decade or so ago, and when typing slurs it would auto filter your message to "I love you". Would actually like that here.

Frankly I almost feel like the profanity filter should be customizable and not a simple toggle on/off.
Have a scam (.com) filter, profanity filter, and offensive language filter. You can toggle each of these independently.
Of course, none of these will REALLY do the job. After all human beings are nothing if not creatively offensive.
