While the issues are obviously different, the similarities in how they have unfolded have been striking: police station on fire, journalist being blinded in one eye by rubber bullet, officers pushing barriers through the protestors with their cars, accusations of undercover police dressed as protestors (although I guess that last one doesn’t seem to be super uncommon in these types of situations).

The police state has to be stopped now. If we turn back it will only further consolidate their power until we can never do this again.
