I wish when I was a kid playing little league, the parents of Bethel, CT had been exposed to one of these.

I coach high school football in SoCal and the amount of times I need to explain to a parent the fact that 1% of all kids in high school will get any kind of scholarship and 1% of THOSE kids will see the field in college just blows my mind. Seeing a parent belittle the game by blaming coaches, their own kid, or a ref just makes me sick cause I know in 2 to 3 short years that kid will just be trying to get over football for years in college while not playing any sport at all...

In all honesty, it's the parents who are encouraging to their kids regardless of outcome who are the ones who ACTUALLY get to play at the higher level... Cause I've seen super talented kids get scholarships and throw it away once they get to college... I see more kids who have to play JUCO for 2 years, be humble hard working kids, and then go on to play in big games in college and even NFL... And it starts at home

Be the voice that tells them never to quit, not the voice of negativity towards the child so that they grow up hating themselves or the sport/ officiating cause that just leads to them blaming everything on others and not themselves (in a humble way)

That being said 10/10 for that sign

I would work the food stand for my little sisters basketball games where we had this sign posted on the wall. All the parents would come over, read it aloud, and go something along the lines of “oh who would be like that at a KIDS game🙄🙄” but go over to their seats and begin to fight with everyone and anything that was called or said to them
