My mother invaded every aspect of my life until I moved out. It didn’t matter how old was or if I paid bills. It was her house. There was no room for negotiation. She made our lives miserable. We barely speak. I have two children now. They’re pretty open with us since we give them their space.
Your children did not choose you as their parents, they are not your property. I fucking can't stand parents who think their kids need to be grateful for parents doing their fucking job. Yeah, respect is a good thing. But, respect is earned.
