I once saw a documentary that checked in on one boy in Afghanistan over the course of several years.
When it began, he had light in his eyes and busted his ass to get to school. I believe he wanted to be a doctor.
By then end, the light in his eyes was gone and he had been worn down and had to give up school to provide.

This place is in Delhi If I am not wrong. It’s an open school for unprivileged kids who cannot afford to pay fees. They’ll are sitting beneath the metro pillars. I went there in 2015 it was part of my project work.
