My mother invaded every aspect of my life until I moved out. It didn’t matter how old was or if I paid bills. It was her house. There was no room for negotiation. She made our lives miserable. We barely speak. I have two children now. They’re pretty open with us since we give them their space.

Parent's rules are supposed to help their kids to become a responsible, caring adult, not terrorize and isolate them.
