Most one hit wonder analyses I've seen use the time the artist spent on the charts, and whether or not they ever charted again. For this, I wanted to see what artists are one hit wonders as determined by current listening data.
I defined a "Spotify one hit wonder" as an artist with one song that made up the vast majority of their total listens on Spotify.
I gathered data using this API, and I did all the coding+chart in R. I wrote about the process in more detail here, along with more charts.
I also made a Spotify playlist so you can enjoy all these fine songs!
