i had a gentleman ask for a discount because the bike he was buying was pre-built
i was so dumbfounded by his stupidity all i could say was “sir, we pre-build them for your convenience.”
my co-workers said i should’ve offered him one of the bikes still in the box. they don’t come with instructions how to build them
i’ll always regret not offering him the boxed bike
(edit - the comments in here have really shown me how easily a lot of you can go from calling walmart employees “essential heroes” to “unskilled trash.” glad to see that time in isolation taught you absolutely nothing.)
I was working at the front desk of a hotel that happened to sell the local newspaper for 50 cents. A man who was waiting on a bus came over and asked me if I could give him a newspaper. I said "Absolutely, it's just fifty cents." The man looked at me disgusted and scoffed "I just wanted to read it!" Ummm, yeah dude. That's why people buy newspapers- to read them.
I worked at a sports store that sold kayaks and we did discounts on the models we displayed outside because of the inevitable scratches from moving them inside and outside every day and sun damage.
He should get a discount if those were the only models available.
