It also looks like he received a tracheotomy and some sort of feeding line as well. That’s rough for sure.

Article from Buzzfeed;

"The 43-year-old nurse from San Francisco had no underlying health conditions. He normally worked out six or seven times a week. He weighed about 190 pounds. When he spoke with BuzzFeed News on Tuesday, weeks after he'd been able to start eating foods again, he weighed just 140 pounds. His lung capacity is only now starting to slowly come back."

Bed rest fucks you up more than most people realize.

My mom had medical issues throughout the end of her life and every time she was in the hospital for 2-4 weeks, it would take 2 - 4 months of physical therapy to regain her mobility to her pre-admission level.

The minimal puttering she did around the house was what kept her mobile, and bed rest obviously doesn’t let you do that.
