At least you got a final message. I’ve had friends who straight up disappeared after a while. Then again I did the same thing. That’s how life goes I guess.

So, I'm a little older than most on this site, and in this this sub. A lot of people are talking about strategies to prolong and maintain the relationship, and if you can, then you absolutely should. But I will say that relationships aren't defined by their longevity; they come and go, and they all leave their mark. A relatively brief friendship is not some failure because you couldn't keep the ball in the air, just a valued part of the journey.

I met someone on a random tf2 sever 6 years ago. We still talk to this day. I'm scared of the day it stops.
