I met my husband when he was 20 and I was 17. Our 17 year old kid is appalled.

My parents married at 17 (day after her birthday) and 21. Growing up, I used to say I wanted the same. Then I turned 16-- absolutely no way. They had their reasons (war). It worked out beautifully, but no.
