I would like the record to reflect that when Obi-Wan found out he did not say that. He is such a bro all he did was told Padme “I’m so sorry” then didn’t snitch to anyone or hold it against him. What he did do was silently and thanklessly devote the rest of his life to helping keep Anakin’s son safe. Obi wan is what the Jedi are supposed to be.
My theory is that the writer’s original plan was for him to be Obi-Wan’s son and hence designed him that way. But at a later date changed the story as they decided it didn’t fit with Obi-Wan’s character.
