On May 4th, the Netherlands remember the people that died in WWII. There is a ceremony at the Dam Square in Amsterdam every time where the King and Queen and other people like veterans hang wreaths there. People also hold speeches.
At 8:00pm, the whole county is silent for 2 minutes.
And as you can see from the top picture, there was also a big crowd. This year is quite different, and for the first time in the history, the king also held a speech.

I like how they always film from behind this statue on the palace during the ceremony, the woman holds an olive branch and symbols peace.
