As someone who's constantly broke (but has never had to resort to begging... Yet) 75¢ adds up. I keep all my coins. I was able to buy a loaf of bread for 3$ and scrounged around for a bit to get some peanut butter. But if you're ever so fucking broke you're doing this. A five pound sack of potatoes is usually less that 3$ and bruh that's a lot of potatoes. You can even microwave them, wrap them in foil on a good ol dumpsterfire, or plenty of other ways. This is me, signing off to go make some mashed potatoes. It's potato time y'all.

Edit: thank you all for your support and conversations. Although it is potato time, I am purely enjoying my potatoes out of my love for potato (and maybe because I have a lot of them now). I'm not doing to bad, and do not need any money or anything. But thank you those who offered.

I had a beggar help me start my car, and he asked for some money after, and I handed him a 10 dollar bill, he looks at me and asks if that's all i have... Some fucking people

EDIT: Realized i should have included this too late, he didn't ask me as if he was struggling, his exact words were "Really dude? You couldn't give me any more than that?" in a condescending way. At the time i was also at college, in my own place, and working at a grocery store.

I was putting my groceries into my car in the parking lot of the grocery store one day, and this family drives up. A couple of kids in the back, mom and dad in the front. The mom says, “Please, we just need a few more dollars to be able to afford Motel 6 for the night. Anything you can spare?” I felt cornered and gave them like $2 I had in my wallet. I normally never carry cash. I hand her the money and say, “Sorry, it’s all I have.” The dad leans over and angrily says to me, “Motel 6 is $50 a night.” I’m like, are you freaking serious right now? I say sorry again and turn my back to finish putting my stuff away, and the guy literally revs his engine and just shoots off through the parking lot. Definitely the weirdest choosing beggar experience I’ve had.
