People disagree (or don't want to admit it), but I think this is completely okay.

There are so many posts on places like r/relationships and such about "I can't make friends," because it seems like everyone wants to jump into situations like the BFFs you see on TV that you can go to about anything. And that that's "real friends". It's completely okay to have friendships where you hang out with people, enjoy their company, and talk about shared interests. It doesn't make those friendships fake/superficial. And, in many cases, if you have something troubling you, and you go to one of those people, they will talk to you. The more time you spend together, the more you get to know each other, and care about each other, even if you don't explicitly say things. But it's also okay to have friends that can't be emotional support.

Note: I'm a woman, for anyone saying that gender comes into play. Yes, there's a stereotype that female friendships need to be deep, and an idea that men must really want deeper friendships, but can't have them. Gender doesn't matter.
