I had a pet bunny named Indiana. When I got him he was a baby and too small to jump up on things. One day I had a Yankee candle burning on top of a coffee table when suddenly Indiana jumped up on it and shoved his face near the candle before I could shoo him away. He hopped down and I could smell the burned fur. Luckily he didn't get hurt, but he singed off his whiskers on one side of his face. Poor critter was hoping lopsided for weeks before they grew back!

We had a kitten growing up that got too curious about a candle and her eyebrow whiskers burnt off.
