I'm so done with people trying to reframe quarantine protestors as acting selflessly. We all fucking know that this lockdown is hurting vulnerable people because they can't work or get the resources they need to survive. The solution to that is not to open the economy all the way back up again and have those people risk dying enmasse just so they can provide for themselves.
The solution is to provide more relief and eliminate the systemic inequalities that put those people in that situation to begin with. It doesn't somehow change the fact that the protestors right now are being led by a massive conservative astroturf campaign to actively sabotage the efforts of healthcare professionals and advance the interests of grifters who could not give a single solitary shit about the vulnerable and needy.
