I’m so overexposed to bad news and people being unkind that it never ceases to surprise me how generous and nice people can be. There are more good people than bad ones in this world, it’s just that good deeds don’t get as much attention in the media.
We have an elderly woman on our block who taped a note to our mailbox weeks ago with her phone number on it. We agreed to keep an eye on each other. She brought us extra food she didn’t think she could use from the food bank. We have been baking her bread. My kids have been taking care of her lawn. Someone gave her medical masks. She brought us some. We told her to keep them and sent her home with our homemade masks.
