My dog is the laziest bastard in the world. He behaves as calmly as the dog in your comic in presence of food. He will NOT eat even things he loves if you do not give him a tiny, tiny piece first. If the first piece is not tiny enough, he will not eat the rest. He may be autistic. I did vaccinate him against broken bones though. Might be that.

As an owner of a Boxer/Lab I do not know of this ability to leave food on counters. Microwaves lock and that is the only safe place.
