She makes a very valid point. Parents have a bad habit of reminding their children if it wasn't for them (the parents) then the child wouldn't have this or that. If it wasn't for the child you wouldn't be a parent, and in some cases that would be a good thing, just because you have a kid, doesn't make you a good parent. Which is why some of us choose not having children. I have none, I have personally never felt I would be a good parent or role model, so no kids for me.
