My cat is a mouser, and usually he's great at his job, but there was one time a couple of years ago that I came down one morning to find a mouse just hanging out by the sofa. My cat was sprawled on the sofa, watching this mouse but quite content to do nothing at all about it (this mouse was the cheekiest thing I've ever met, too, and would sit there until I walked over to it, then waddle away just out of reach again). In the end I caught it with a glass bowl and a bit of cake as bait to drop it off in a field the next village over - my cat, helpful mouser that he is, decided that I had everything under control and took a nap for most of this, and the mouse seemed just as happy to sit there eating cake in his temporary home. I'm not sure which of them was lazier!
