There is a growing campaign going around calling the current sit "This is what Bernie's presidency looks like" base on what I saw, which is completely wrong and idiotic.

My 22 year old son was complaining about "SOCIALISM!"™ the other week.

I said it's sure funny how much you like it when your mom buys your groceries for you.

Yeah, but that's different he says.

How?

Ummmm...

Edit: Clearly, I have to explain he was complaining about Bernie Sanders style of "SOCIALISM!"™ where the wealthy pay more to provide services for the less fortunate.

Not the "sieze the means of production" communist definition.

Edit2: Nice try Russian bots. I have no desire to debate whether taking care of fellow citizens is a worthwhile thing to do or not. It is.

This is interesting to read as a European because the things you're hitting him with and calling 'socialist' policies are all just the base standards for the normal running of a country to me. They're not what we'd consider socialist at all! Don't get me wrong I like what you did I just think the contrast in political perspectives from one side of the pond to the other is very interesting when I see it on sites like Reddit and American news outlets. Another example is when I hear Bernie Sanders referred to as a socialist or someone with socialist policies. He'd be referred to as marginally left of centre and slightly conservative in a few ways if he was a European politician.
