Fresh fears have been raised over The Queen’s health after one of her senior footman tested positive for coronavirus.

The unnamed aide is believed to have had close contact with Her Majesty and is now at home self-isolating.

Duties the servant would have undertaken included walking Her Majesty’s dogs, and serving food and drink to the 93-year-old.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Everyone is terrified, not just for themselves but also for the Queen and the Duke.

“If everyone around them hasn’t been tested yet they should be and I’m sure they will be. There is a palpable sense of fear in the air at the moment.

“The footman would come and collect the dogs and see the Queen on a daily basis performing normal duties.

“It’s terrifying to think how close they were.”

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are both isolating at Windsor Castle as the coronavirus pandemic engulfs the UK.

Access to the elderly royals is now heavily restricted, with just skeleton staff being on hand for duties.

Buckingham Palace says The Queen remains in good health.

This is why I dismissed all my footmen, my valet and even my butler at the very beginning of this pandemic. One can never be too careful.
