The Daily Populous Sunday March 29th, 2020 evening edition
Sophie Scholl, her brother Hans, and their friend Christoph. They were German students distributing anti-nazi leaflets. Sophie was 21 when she was beheaded, Hans was 24, Christoph was 23. (1943)
Such a splendid sunny day, and I have to go. But how many have to die on the battlefield in these days, how many young, promising lives... What does my death matter if by our acts thousands are warned and alerted.
If you ever visit Munich (Germany): Visit the Sophie Scholl memorial, which is located at the Ludwig Maximilian University. It provides information about the resistance against the third Reich. It's also the place where Sophie and Hans Scholl distributed their leaflets. By the way their resistance group was called Weiße Rose(White Rose)
I go to the very same University where they spreaded their anti-nazi leaflets. The leaflets are chiseled in the floor and there's a little museum called White Rose memorial. On a wall there's always a fresh white rose in honor to their movement.
