Every spring a dedicated team from English Heritage are tasked with positioning the stones to align with BST. This team is mirrored by a team who have the task to reposition the stones in October for the winter months.

Fascinating stuff really. Makes you appreciate the effort the ancient Britons who built the stones must have put in every 6 months!

Edit: just realised that there may be questions re; lack of PPE and social distancing. Thankfully the druidic leylines protect workers within the stone circle, and by moving one stone at a time it doesn't disrupt the aura. Cheers, druids!

They have started 4 days too early this year.

My great uncle was once a part of a team that did this back in 78, he is forever telling us the story of how they moved the stones 32 degrees too far north, it resulted in one of the coldest and wettest springs on record, people were fuming but on the plus side the extra rain and damp conditions that year resulted in one of the best harvest for brussel sprouts ever seen, the yield was at least 10 fold on the previous years, but nevertheless he was never asked to go back again.

How it became owned by English Heritage. A man was sent by his wife to buy curtains and he bought Stonehenge instead
