COVID-19: Trudeau to Canadians: 'Enough is enough. Go home and stay home'

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made clear Monday his government is out of patience with people ignoring advice to stay home and potentially spreading COVID-19 in the community.

“Enough is enough. Go home and stay home. This is what we all need to be doing,” Trudeau said at a press conference outside Rideau Cottage where he is self isolating.

Health officials across the country have warned Canadians to go outside only for essential reasons and to avoid gathering in large groups. Restaurants and bars have been closed and workers across many industries have been sent to work from home.

If you want people to stay home, you have to either pay people to stay home or suspend rent.

Some of us don’t even have that choice and just have to pray that our landlords will be forgiving because there is suddenly no work. And so far no government mandated relief for a lot of us, which would barely cover rent even if we did quality. If you’re so desperate for people to stay home, make It possible for us to do

Mandate it or nobody is going to listen, unless the government does something. Those who won’t care will continue not to care.

Those who think they are essential employers will continue to stay open.
