Regardless, I think we are going to be quarantined for months. Schools shut down for the semester, CDC said something about 8 weeks of not having 50+ people together at once. What was a two week thing has easily become at least a two month thing and it just depresses me to no end.

A girl I know is still having her wedding in May because "her god is bigger". Please just cut your losses and postpone. People are dying

There is no knocking it out and being done with it. This isn't Outbreak.

Quarantine just buys time. It slows down infection rates so hospitals can treat, hopefully, all of the infected people who need treatment. Meanwhile, vaccine developers do their thing: develop, test, mass produce, and administer a good vaccine nationwide. That will take a long time-- if you're going to inject something into nearly every person in the US, you'd better be damn sure it's safe. Quarantine keeps infection and death rates low until all that happens.

Quarantine isn't the cure. Quarantine isn't waiting out the virus til it gets tired and goes home. Quarantine just slows things down, buying us all time.
