There's still a closet flange on the sewer pipe. It won't be hard to temporarily hook up a toilet if you have one, a wax seal, a valve, and a supply line. Should take less than an hour, easy. If you can't do it call around and explain your situation and I bet you can get someone to come out and do it
Edit: Also, until you do get a toilet installed, cover the pipe with something. Sewer gas will come up it otherwise.
