I got 33K to pay back but let me tell ya what America won’t do. As much as I want it they’d rather bail out these airlines like they did the banks in 08.
I finished paying of $35,000 (plus interest) in student loans last March. Took me 2699 days.
Anyway, despite paying mine off in full and a year and a half ahead of schedule, I support the full erasure of outstanding student loan debt because:
a) I don't want anyone else to have to go through what I did in order to pay that shit off.
b) low cost education produces net benefits to society.
If we are concerned about unqualified people going, just raise entry requirements.
EDIT: Yes, I am aware that the education problem extends far beyond college entry requirements and student loans. But let's not allow 'perfect' to be the enemy of 'better'. I'm an educator at a very poor school in a very poor school district, and I know better than most what happens when kids are left to blow in the wind from K-12. There is a ton that needs to be done at this level and I wholeheartedly support every bit of it.

I've heard so many people complain that we shouldn't do it because they already paid their loans and it's not fair
