Josh Gad and Amy Adams are reading children’s books on social media to support families who are home from school

Celebrities are coming together to read books for children who are currently home from school due to the coronavirus and sharing the videos on social media.

“Frozen 2” star Josh Gad has been recording himself reading children’s books and sharing the videos on Twitter, according to People magazine.

And on Monday, Amy Adams and Jennifer Garner announced that they would begin sharing videos of them reading children’s books on Instagram in order to raise money for children affected by school closures, USA Today reported.

Gad has been live-streaming the videos of him reading on Twitter since March 13, according to Good Morning America.

“Since we’re all stuck at home right now I figured we would have a little fun together,” Gad said in his March 13 video, according to GMA.

He added that he would “try to provide at least 10 minutes of day care to you and your families a night while we’re going through this unprecedented global event.”

So far, Gad (who is a father of two) has read three stories: “Olivia Goes to Venice,” by Ian Falconer; “The Day the Crayons Quit,” by Drew Daywalt; and “The Giving Tree,” by Shel Silverstein, according to GMA.

Meanwhile, Adams and Garner have created an Instagram account called “Save with Stories,” which is in partnership with the groups Save the Children and No Kid Hungry, according to USA Today.

The recorded stories will be available on Instagram for free, though the account is requesting donations of $10 to support children in vulnerable communities, according to an Instagram post from Save with Stories.

On Monday, Garner shared a video of herself reading “The Three Little Fish and the Big Bad Shark,” by Ken Geist, and Adams shared a video reading “The Dinosaur Princess,” by Aviana Olea Le Gallo.
