(CNN) Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have been released from a Queensland hospital in Australia and are now in self-quarantine at their home there, a representative for Hanks told CNN on Monday.

The couple had been hospitalized in isolation after being diagnosed with novel coronavirus last week.

Hanks and Wilson are in Australia for pre-production work on a film about singer Elvis Presley. Hanks is set to play Presley's manager, Colonel Tom Parker, in the film directed by Baz Luhrmann.

Production on the project is currently suspended.

The couple each took to Instagram to share the news last Thursday.

I’m a front line physician in a soon to be chaos-struck country: Canada. And, I’m also from one of the leading SARS Cov- 2 positive cities in this country.

Hurray that Tom and Rita go home! Great! But...

I can’t get administrators to recognize that management of covid-19 patients can seriously impact our nurses and doctors. Seriously.

‘Flattening the curve’ means we prolong the incidence of new cases to protect health care resources.

But to protect health care resources - our staff- we should also go above and beyond to protect the individuals that get up in the morning and walk into a day of possible - or soon to be likely - infection.

Seriously people, our nurses and doctors don’t deserve the bare minimum. We shouldn’t cater to the lowest common denominator. This virus is not the common cold. Don’t treat it like it is.

We are told that we should adhere to ‘droplets precautions’; so we should treat this virus like it is the common cold or a stomach bug. As a result, N-95 masks and face -shields are locked away. Patients can be assessed in a group room with separating fabric curtains because apparently the virus hits the curtains and falls to the ground. Admitted patients with symptoms have their room doors kept open to the ward because ‘droplet precautions only’.

I’m not fabricating this.

I see thousands of front-line workers entering into a battle where they can only access regular surgical masks unless ‘intubation/ bi-PAP, bronchoscope’ .

So, hurray for Tom and Rita!

Let’s use this sub to actually save lives

I’m glad they can at least recover at home. Hospitals are great but they can be uncomfortable.
