This was my exact thought when I read there were towns in Europe being put on lockdown

Do I call up Verizon and tell them "Hey I'm in Buffalo, we're on lockdown. So about that phone bill?"

how exactly does this work?

Edit: Buffalo isn't on lockdown. This is a "what if?" scenario

I'm not suggesting they let your bill slide and you not have to pay it. I'm saying, literally, how does paying it work? If you can't work then you can't have money, no money means you can't pay the bill as scheduled. What happens?

This is one of my largest concerns. I need to know that if shit hit the fan and my company has to keep people home, that means I'm not working, and if I'm not working, then I hope that I can sleep well knowing I won't be held responsible for the bills once this boils over. I have a mortgage to pay as well as all the utilities dammit!
