Getting into a well-made bed like that after a long day feels like what I imagine the Egyptians’ mummification process and the eternal rest that was to follow must have felt. That is, until Helga from the lobby rings your hotel phone at 5:30 AM for your wake up call. Or, as this extended metaphor would have it, grave robbers bursting into your tomb of eternal rest, uninvited, to ransack the gem-encrusted sarcophagus in which your body intended to reside ever so snugly for the rest of eternity.
