Because the more democratic system would be to eliminate the least popular option until you have a winner that the majority actually supports, otherwise you could have a winner that never had the support of the majority. That’s literally how Trump was elected.

This thread is absolutely full of people who think they're geniuses when they say ranked voting is better. No shit it's better, but that's not what we're talking about. We're talking the Democratic party using super delegates (people who's votes actually matter -- not like us stinking masses).

Ranked voting would be EVEN better, but, again, that's not on offer by the DNC. We're just saying getting rid of the super delegates would be democratic, unlike the current system.

If we want a national popular vote in the general, we ought to do a national popular vote in the primary.
