I'm definitely voting for Bernie! The two biggest reasons are that he's been consistent with his message for decades. And, after being a senator for so long, no corporation or lobby has been able to "purchase" him. He stands for the people and I hope to see a Sanders presidency. One caveat is that McConnell needs to be removed or it will be status quo - just block, block, block.
The fact that Lester couldn't even bring himself to answer that Bernie won the poll was so .. ugh. This is getting dumber by the minute. They keep screeching about Socialism, M4A, Bernie Bros and now Russia. They really got nothing on this guy.
I think the thing is that those of us raised in the mid 80s going forward didn’t hear a bunch of anti-Communist or Socialist propaganda growing up while EVERYONE for a generation before that in the US was literally indoctrinated against anything that ppl could even start to link to those political ideologies. I watch Mark Shields on PBS Newshour every week and he is terrified of a Bernie presidency because he still believes that old school line that got us into wars and had us either assassinating elected leaders or supporting dictators in: Vietnam, Cuba, Chile, the Dominican Republic, the entire Middle East, Indonesia, South Africa, Egypt... the list goes on and on. Meanwhile, Canada, Australia, all of Western Europe, Singapore, Taiwan, etc got “socialism” in the form of universal healthcare and free or low cost education at all levels but WE couldn’t have those things or else we’d be COMMIE REDS! Ronald Reagan told me so!
So now, especially with way cheaper travel abroad available, we go to those places and talk about being $80K in debt for a four-year degree or our aunt going into bankruptcy because she got cancer and people’s jaws hit the floor. So we can’t be fooled anymore like the last generation that only saw Europe in WWII, when it was mostly rubble and we were the hottest and only big economy left on Earth that wasn’t the Soviet Union, or because they were the few rich enough to get over there.
We are the monkey in the experiment that gets a piece of cucumber for a task then sees another monkey get a grape for doing the same task. We want our fucking grape and Bernie’s our best shot at getting it! He’s always been pro-grape per task. He doesn’t take grapes on the side from the doctors when we aren’t looking!
