Photography is a pretty good example of this. It's a really fun hobby, but can be quite a stressful career and you have to put up with A LOT of bullshit.
On high school career day many years ago, a veterinarian asked why we were interested in being a vet. A girl answered because she loved animals. The vet said, “If you love animals, have a lot of pets.” I always remembered that answer. I did not become a vet, but I do have a lot of pets. I think it was the right call.
