O crap that's what it is. I was wondering why it felt so authentic. I think their hair styles probably matched the 70s too.

I also loved how they used old footage from the original trilogy of in cockpit shots of the fighter pilots. When I was watching it first I was like damn, that seems really spot on. Only after searching online later did I see why it was so spot on lol.
