I'm holding an open casket funeral for my copy of Halo 3 that died at 12 years old from disk scratches. It's an open invite to all Halo fans of all types to pay their respects. Memories and stories are greatly appreciated, thank you.

For us, the disc has passed... the game is over. But let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling lobbies and did not return. For their decision required courage beyond measure; sacrifice, and unshakable conviction that their fight... our fight, was elsewhere. As we start to rebuild, this table will remain barren, a memorial to games fallen. They ennobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten.

One summer, I babysat my two younger siblings for 3 months everyday. My parents told me they would buy me a 360 after summer was over. The day came, and I got my console. I had no games, and only peggle. It was bliss but my good friend brandan would come over and say man, we should buy halo 3. I didnt have any money. I had no allowance. But I thought when the time came, I would get it. A few days later, my dad came home from work early and brandan and I were playing a demo of backbreaker vegence on the Xbox. He walked in and asked how we were doing. We said we were just playing a demo. He then said the screen seemed too dim. He walked over to the tv to "fix it" and when he bent over, Halo 3 was in his back pocket. What a day. We played that game all 4 years of highschool. And many days afterwards when we got together. I still have that copy to this day. And whenever brandan is in town. We always play. Thanks dad.
