Boy. This reminds me of a conversation I had with a coworker once. Seemed like a totally normal guy.
We’re at a bar with a group and the subject of homophobia comes up. Naturally everyone is saying how disgusting and ridiculous it is. Someone in the group is openly gay.
Coworker snaps: “I hate the term ‘homophobia’ because it implies fear. I’m not afraid.” Then got up and left.
Got real awkward after that. He resigned the following week.

I got lost in Indianapolis and ended up in a neighborhood with a house that flew both those bottom flags from his front porch.
