So the 15% tip on a $162 dinner tab is the same as 162% of 15.

% just means "multiple by me and divide by 100"

8x25=200

200/100=2

With this you can use another technique of multiplying by the closest 5 or 10 and minusing the multiplied difference for complex calculations: Eg 7% of 23

7x25=175

175-14=161

161/100 =1.61

Practice and you'll pull off some impressive quick maths in a meeting.
