I had exactly that. Got it out. My dentist office quoted me $2,500. I went to the local UT dental school to get their take on it and get a quote. They quoted me $400. Yah.
The surgeries at the Dental school are done by doctors. Not by students.
I scheduled it with the Dental school. They did it perfectly, smooth and were super nice and professional all together.
I recommend looking into that option. It was at the UT school of dentistry in Houston Texas.

Was your dentist saying the impacted wisdom tooth isn't normal or the abscess isn't normal?
