We had some Muslim visitors in our factory for two months of training on some equipment they purchased. They were here for Ramadan and Eid. When Eid came, they brought in SOOOOOO much food to share with people they only had a temporary business relationship with. They pointed out that like everywhere else in the world, social events are typically food-centric.
During the years I worked in a restaurant, Ramadan once fell during the summer. We had a Muslim kitchen staff and I was amazed they wouldn't even touch a glass of water even though it was hot as heck back there. But they really hated the guy who worked in the much cooler front of the house who had no problem drinking water.
