If you can't be bothered to leave a phone number on your dog's tag, I can't be bothered to track you down to let you know that your dog died.

Did you post in your local lost dog group? Sometimes people look there if their dog hasn’t come home in awhile. Not that I think this is acceptable behavior but the poor pup deserves to at least have its identity found.

Fun story, there was a dog in Adelaide Australia named Famous Amos for the fact that he loved to ride on trains he would get out of his back yard make his way to his local train station and begin riding trains.

Amos memorized the train routes and timetables his collar had his owners number on it, and the other side said "if past 4pm, tell me to go home" the train drivers and staff got used to him riding with him. The only days when Amos didn't ride the trains was during weekends.
