It looks like we might seeing the production on Matrix 4 start very very soon. A casting call seeking background extras put out by Dwyer Casting is looking for men and women 18+ for something called Project Ice Cream filming in San Francisco, California.

Project Ice Cream happens to be the working title of Lana Wachowski’s Matrix 4.

Filming according to the casting call will take place between February 5th and March 1st.

The cast includes Keanu Reeves (Neo), Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity), and Jada Pinkett Smith (Niobe), Jessica Henwick (Godzilla vs Kong, Iron Fist, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Neil Patrick Harris (Starship Troopers, Gone Girl), Toby Onwumere, Erendira Ibarra (Sense8), and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Aquaman).

It’ll be interesting to see if this new film will launch a brand new trilogy.

Warner Bros. has given Matrix 4 a release date of May 21st, 2021.

Keanu is also expected to begin shooting John Wick: Chapter 4 sometime this year as well.

Neo (Keanu Reeves) believes that Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), an elusive figure considered to be the most dangerous man alive, can answer his question — What is the Matrix? Neo is contacted by Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), a beautiful stranger who leads him into an underworld where he meets Morpheus. They fight a brutal battle for their lives against a cadre of viciously intelligent secret agents. It is a truth that could cost Neo something more precious than his life.
