I always wondered how that got started, but he's always had some crazy rumors going around about him. He played in my city in the mid-90s, and word spread that he was banned from performing in the city again because he killed a puppy on stage. Obviously didn't happen, but he did get arrested during/after his performance and held overnight.
This is a longstanding rumour... I was at school in the 80s, at which point it was Prince who'd had two ribs removed to suck his own dick. I always used to try and see the difference when he was on TV.
